Dine Under $10: Cooks Hill Hotel, Cabramatta

For those who live in the South West of Sydney, you may be interested in checking out Cooks Hill Hotel where a steak, chips and salad will only set you back $10 on Sundays to Thursdays.

The steaks are giant and come with a choice of a variety of gravy e.g. mushroom, pepper, seeded mustard.  I have even received two steaks on a couple of occasions. My extended family has gotten into the habit of often sharing one dish between two people as the portions are seriously massive.

In terms of taste, the chips are thick and crispy and the salad actually goes beyond iceberg lettuce to the fancy stuff.   The salad dressing is also deliciously creamy.  The steak can be a bit grisly and fatty at times, but even if you cut away those bits you are still left with a huge amount of steak.

If you are not a steak person, there are also other $10 choices on the menu e.g. fish and chips, chicken/pork/lamb, spaghetti.

This place gets packed at night so if you want to minimise the wait, go at lunch or early in the evening.
