This Italian eatery is nestled in Rosehill, about 5 minutes drive from Parramatta.
If you eat-in at lunch, you can get a regular (whole) pizza, pasta or salad, and also a can of drink for only $10.90. However my usual method of ordering is delivery, because any order over $20 gets free delivery. Also, if you spend $35 or more, you get half a litre of gelato for free. They usually have my order delivered within 40 minutes which is a fairly quick turnaround.
The beef lasagna (regular price $13.50) is stuff that Garfield would dream of. The cheese is soft and stringy and it seems that the lasagna features more cheese and beef than pasta sheets. As a result, it is ridiculously oily and that might be offputting for some, but for me, that's what makes this the ultimate lasagna. The serving size is also enormous and it can usually be divided up between two people (or over two meals for oneself!)
Similarly, the pizzas here are very cheesy. The seafood marinara ($13.00 for regular, $18.50 for large) has a good variety of seafood (mussels, squid, prawns). The BBQ chicken ($12.50 for regular, $16.90 for large) is also quite tasty, though it could do with a bit more topping. The pizza bases are thin and crispy. A regular pizza cuts into 6 slices, whilst a large pizza can be divided into 8 slightly larger slices. I can usually finish a regular size in one sitting if I'm feeling hungry.
Sopranos also has a large range of gourmet pizzas with exotic Indian inspired names such as the Taj Mahal, Hindu Lover and Healthy Karma. However I still haven't been game enough to try them, as I'm the type who likes to stick to the tried and true.
Part of the reason I like the food here so much, aside from the cheese, is because Sopranos is quite liberal with its use of garlic. Sopranos gets the amount just right to give their dishes the little oomph (I've been to places before that have gone overboard with garlic, leaving me with a stinging mouth.) An after meal mint would still be advised though!

$10.90 sounds like great value!! Especially for a whole pizza!! Shame it's a bit far from parra (since I don't drive *sigh*)- I would love to try out this place though :) The lasagna sounds amazing- definitely my type of lasagna!!
ReplyDeleteYeh rosehill is unfortunately a bit out of the way without a car. Haha I took 4 gos before I passed my driving test...definitely not my forte, but glad I did!
